Today, Apple admitted to slowing down older iphones and will continue to do so in the future.

They said they do this to prolong the life of the device.

I call major bullshit. Everyone knows its for the money and security of sales for future Apple products.

I could see their reasoning being legitimate. The cause makes sense, lol; after time, batteries deteriorate and become unreliable, causing death at ~20%, with the updates they provided, it uses less resources to prolong battery life.

I'm honestly not surprised since it's apple, but it does explain my phone getting slower :/

If you don't want your phone to get slower just stop upgrading the iOS?

Over the years, I kinda figured phone companies would do this. But atleast allow the user to choose if they would prefer battery life.

Well this is kinda oblivous. I.m. I remember not upgrading my old Ipad2 for a long time and it was working like a clock, but ones I updated it like 99 of any applications started to crash every 10-15 mins. I mean, you really should avoid getting any upgrades of your old devise ones new iphone\ipad is released.

I don't see the fuss about it. If you replace your battery the speed is fine again.
