I guess it's time to just replace your battery. It makes sense for them to throttle performance tho

Thanks god I didn't update to iOS 11 yet :d. Guess I'll be staying on 10 and waiting for stable jailbreak :D.

What's ironic about this, is they still have yet to even release the update, what is it .8, and that's supposed to allow us to turn this feature off...

Yeah this was a pretty well-known thing amongst people but no one really called them out on it (or people did but with no results) so this time it actually worked and they got their asses blasted. At least they put an option in the newest update to whereas you can choose to either slow down your device to save battery or keep it as it is.

Today, Apple admitted to slowing down older iphones and will continue to do so in the future.

They said they do this to prolong the life of the device.

I call major bullshit. Everyone knows its for the money and security of sales for future Apple products.

It's really that Apple can pull this and just say "Oh, it's because the phones will start losing battery as they get older and they won't charge as much" and other bullshit
Just because you can get the battery replaced when it starts getting old doesn't mean you need to buy a new phone lmao.
Just a really scummy thing that Apple think they can pull off.

This is why I go with Android, at least there, a lot of companies producing phones are much better... though not all. A lot of them tend to follow Apple and the strange things that they do like removing the headphone jack. So Dumb.

They honestly didn't. It was for battery defects only.

And I think Apple could have worded it better but slowing down of your device due to a new OS is rather common, and also less financially intensive to stop supporting devices that have long hit their end of life cycle. The only people who actually care are those who either dont have iphones or people who just dont like Apple.

I bet my Nokia Lumia doesn't hold up very well anymore either.
