I don't see the fuss about it. If you replace your battery the speed is fine again.

Why replace something that isn't broken.

Lithium batteries deteriorate. They all do. I've had to get a replacement battery because they end up getting worse and only lasting 2 hours on screen time instead of 4 or 5.

This happens for literally every phone. You should replace it because it is nearly dead anyway.

Here's the problem, if you update the battery on an older device with no battery issues, performance will still be bogged down due to the nerfing of the newest update to keep battery safe. Battery won't change a thing. If battery is an issue one generation before the X and 8, theres a problem. Apple releases phones every year. For them to have battery issues within a year or two is just flatout trash.

Why can be the reason they are doing so ? I ain't understanding it

This was pretty obvious, made no sense that devices randomly slowed down

This feels like something people knew about in the past but had no real proof.

While that's true, the real problem here is the batteries themselves. Have you ever seen an Apple battery cell they use in iOS devices? They are known for their abysmal lifespans because of their terrible quality and extremely low lifespan. Planned obsolescence at its finest.

Apple has been trash for a while now. Not surprising. Everyone knew it was going on but now we have confirmation.

I knew the tide has changed when I was impressed by what I saw inside of a MS store.
