Is Hosting a Garrys Mod Server Even Worth It?

I don't know about getting a lot of friend, it's hard when it comes to share stuff

Well, hosting a server has its benefits and it also does not have its benefits! It's just a preference on the owner

It all depend if you want to earn money of just build up a good community out of it.

Concerning money i guess you need to have a big community and it will be mostly toxic
but if you don't care about money and build a serious community and lose money on the beginning you can then setup donation and maybe get some bucks to pay the host

it depends on how you do it i am making a server with my friend right now and we are having a lot of fun and the people on the server are great

i honestly find hositng servers to be worth it. i build great communities and made many friends

It's not worth it, trust me. It's too much of a hassle and it's very difficult to manage it.

My tip on getting people to play is to get some people you know that play Gmod, as many as possible, like atleast 10 (if it's a gamemode like DarkRP that needs a lot of players) and make sure you can all be on at the same time.

IF you know what you're doing then yes, Garry's Mod can be a great community you just gotta get rid of the minges first

I'm still hosting 3 TTT Servers and they still working very well. I'm getting alot of money, I put alot of stuff on the VIP-Shop. I have like 5+ vServer with diff. gameservers on it and I never saw one of this empty. Tip: buy a vServer (Linux) from Contabo (9/Monthly | 12GB RAM | 4vCore | Stable)
