Is Hosting a Garrys Mod Server Even Worth It?

When you make a server, put a lot of effort into it, not just running every possible leak addons and hoping for the server to work, I mean carefully modifying stuff and crafting your own ideas into your server. Also, do not put paid shit right away, start having those ideas only when there are 30 + people who already know the server, then you can start gently with a donation system and maybe a VIP system.

In Russia it is very profitable occupation, there are about 3 servers and get them in total about 100 thousand rubles, can translate and see.

Depands on gamemode. Theres some gamemodes, which worth of hosting but some are overfilled with servers, depands

It's worth it if you have a large group who is willing to help you out by joining and growing players before it all even starts.

You cant host a Server alone you need help friends,etc

since the population if gmod kinda decreasing each year prob not worth it. (I've test it from 1st time i bought gmod until now)

If you can do something special then Yes, if the standard dark RP then don't even try you will eat the old people

By the way, it can also depends on from which country you're from and in which language you want to make a server.

I'm french and I know that french DarkRPs usually use the same old add-ons such as the ARC ATMs and such, as well as the same printers, so I just made a server by looking at American and British DarkRPs with like 3 addons dedicated only to printers and used addons that were rarely used on french servers, this way players felt like It was full of content and original.

To run a succesful server, you need to be different. Addons, gamemode, etc.
If you want to make a profitable server, just put a lot of thing to VIP only (tools, weapons, etc)
