This was a little snarky, not really needed.

The article itself is new, yes, but the idea of hacking into a TV is not. I can not back myself up due to the flood of this particular instance, however I remember as far back as 2015 at least they were talking about the same thing.

It's very known already. That's like saying NSA could access your webcam, which they could and has been confirmed since the Snowden leaks.

Nothing new.

This article is specific to a government agency hacking a television. Yes, it is similar to a computer's webcam in concept, I agree. However, using a TELEVISIONas a spy tool is new because the technology that can be used as the spy tool (microphone in this instance) has only but recently been added to televisions in the last few years, and this is the firstcircumstance to come through just as these higher-end televisions are becoming cheaper and more easily attainable by the general public.
