This article is specific to a government agency hacking a television. Yes, it is similar to a computer's webcam in concept, I agree. However, using a TELEVISIONas a spy tool is new because the technology that can be used as the spy tool (microphone in this instance) has only but recently been added to televisions in the last few years, and this is the firstcircumstance to come through just as these higher-end televisions are becoming cheaper and more easily attainable by the general public.

So? You just proved my argument of it's not news, since it's been going on for years(confirmed at least a year ago). That's all what I said.
I only made that response so the user knows that we don't tolerate copy pasting news articles from years ago and farming credits off of that.

The specific article he wanted to talk about isn't even a year old yet. If your goal was to help improve the forum because this post is in a wrong section, report the thread. However, as I see it, it is properly posted.

However, just pasting the definition of "news" is NOT helpful, and does NOT get the point across to the OP. Honestly, its a little inflammatory.
It rhymes with braille, not drool.

It's not in the wrong section, it's spam. Just pasting a link from a news site isn't allowed. You're allowed to do that when you actually add something and are willing to discuss.
Consider how fast technology related news gets released and how big this particular one was, almost a year is a long time. Like I said before, this has been confirmed a long time ago, the article came out late.
My definition was meant to be a little inflammatory.

Being on the forum for so long, and preaching them as you are now,I'm sure you've visited these rules before. But I'll just refresh your memory.

If its spam/ low quality post then you should report the post itself, not reply with the definition of news.

Uh dude, if you didn't know I've written some of the rules here. I handle ~100 reports on a good day, so I know the rules pretty well.
Calling someone an idiot once isn't against the rules, continued harassment is.

What I said isn't even close to idiot either way, calm down and stop arguing with me.
You're a waste of my time.

The CIA isnt the only intelligence agency working on this kind of exploit, and its a good bet that both the NSA and its adversaries in Russia and China have far more sophisticated ways to crack a smart TV.
Just my 2 cents...
