Absolutely. We evolved that way. Better off people are clearly worth procreating with/safe to befriend. We've got stereotypes in our mind, and society changes what appearance traits fit those types.

Isn't it something to do with natural selection etc etc?

I have always seemed to ask myself this question, but I have always wondered why. Why is it that humans judge others based off of looks rather than judging them by who they truly are as an intellectual? It baffles me as to how people can do it, rather than getting to know someone and then judging them. I myself am judged based solely off of my looks by many, and it disgusts me. Everyone is so quick to judge, yet, won't take the time to get to learn about how someone truly is by actually talking to them.

I'm sure it is a natural human instinct for survival, but in today's day in age, we don't need to worry about the survival of ourselves by the way people look, we're much more advanced now than we ever were before. So tell me, why is it that humans do this?

casue people think if they look good then they probably act good also or its just the natural human instinct!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People tend to be assholes sometimes. It is best just not to let them get to you because they probably are going through things themselves to create such anger.

It's instinct. All there is to it. We can't help it. We do it for searching a mate for ourselves though, I think. For the same gender, I don't know, I always thought bad looks also means bad brain.

I think its in our genetics, if someone is "ugly" you are not intrested in him/her since your life is all about reproduction

I guess that's just how it always has been, human nature n shtuffs

It's natural selection at work. People that look less helpful will be eventually pushed out of the gene pool.

People can be assholes for most of the time. So they have nothing to do but judge others.
