FastDL vs WorkshopDL

Dont use FastDL its really outdated and not very fast. Use WorkshopDL to get players to download your addons. There is plenty of good tutorials on how to do it.

The problem with WorkshopDL is that even if the player is subscribed to the workshop addon he will still need to re-download it :/ And if steam servers break your fucked.

I think both options are good, the main thing is that everyone has their pros and cons

FastDL - WIll make your bandwidth transfer very large and might cause lag to your server
WorkshopDL - Your server will never cause lag by bandwitch if you use WorkshopDL because WorkshopDL using steam servers that inapposite with your server.

For me, I use both of FastDL and WorkshopDL

i really prefer WorkshopDL because its more easy to setup and very fast to download files and you can upload your files and to hide it and oneone will find it

I usually have better luck with Fast DL but I host it on a different server from my gmod server. No bandwidth usage for my main server

Personally I advise you a workshop DL even if it takes more time

fastdl is the best way to download addons quickly

if steam servers die for any reason workshopDL is useless

I would personally try to go for FastDL if possible.
