What programming language to start with?

I started out learning Python. Truth is as a computer science student I started having interest only after my 2nd year in school now am pretty good with java and C++

I recommend AutoHotKey since it easy to start with and if you just want to make a quick script. Also, the community is great and helpful and the documentationis easy to understand.

Stay away from Java? Java is perfectly fine to start with but Python is more convenient.

HTML hands down. easy and useful. add php and css to it and now you have a good tradeskill

Definitely python as it'sall around best for beginners. After that lua is a good one to move onto as it is widely used.

well i guess c++ or c# just so you have a general understanding of what programming is like, and then at some basic level you should move to python to learn how to think and do shit without the complexity of harder languages dragging you down
python is a good start, but would be pretty hard to move to lower level languages from python

If you want to pick up on other languages and be able to teach yourself other languages fairly easily, Python is a great place to start. My friends have mentioned that learning any language after python is a lot easier because there's a lot of similarities.

I am following a new study in the netherlands where they teach you programming in 3 months. They started with python and i must say its a good way of starting

I started with C in school, because when you learn C you learn how memory works on a lower level.
