Gmod dead?

Guys,

Is GMOD dead? I have noticed tons of the humungous servers have shut down. Darth Gaming for example? Possibly the biggest military rpout there, has shut down? I feel like gmod is loosing its playerbase slowly but surely. Has gmod's rain ended? I myself have 5400+ Hours on the game.
Do you guys thing it is dying?

Yes, It will lose players over time but more generations will join it. GMOD its self is not dead. People will always play this game, I've never heard of Darth Gaming my self at all. I have 5,555 hours and the game is not really "dead".

I thought the same when I stopped gmod like a year and a half ago. I come back and its still booming. Guess it will never change as much as I think it will.

i think gmod is still alive. online is growing up. it's good, gmod is my favorite game

I don't really think the game is dying because even all of the german servers are almost fully filled

Maybe. Because nobody sees videos of that,and i consider that nobody wants to see it because the fortnite. But I play it all the day

Ehh, I mean GMod could invest into promoting the game on video platforms - maybe invest into live-streamers and YouTuber to hype the community and attract new players? It's not dead, but could be presented differently and attract more.

I wouldn't call it dead, but past its prime. Before GMod 13, you could find tons of different gamemodes all booming with players. Once they changed the legacy server browser to the current one that lists gamemodes by popularity, you basically just have a huge funnel of DarkRP servers, with most being cancerous with 100+ rules. Stronghold and Spacebuild were pretty cool, I'd love to see Stronghold make a comeback actually.
