Really? I've never heard it mentioned in any anime group that I'm apart of and none of my friends mention it. To me saying an anime is over rated or under rated is mostly opinion based to so.

Yea. If you lurk around in MAL forums or Anime & Manga reddit then you'll see a good amount of people talk about that. It even considered overrated due its popularity.
Your group and friends are not weeb enough. xd joke. There should be at least one or two people know that anime in your group..or probably haven't given a chance to talk about that in your group that's why you haven't heard it from them (?).
Its an anime group, its impossible if they haven't heard nor know that anime, unless your group members are new in anime or only seen few anime..
All of my ol and irl friends (who likes anime) atleast know and seen that anime, same for DGM Hallow.
Well, I found almost all shounen anime popular, so my standard what is overrated and underrated is a bit different (got spoiled in MAL and Reddit). xd

That's people for you. Trusting one another, helping one another----- it's all a fantasy. Humans are creatures that will always betray.

In s2 main character is that dragon girl. In s1 it's an afro dude.
Overall, s1 has higher ratings than s2, and, obviously, s1 is better.

As for me, I dropped s2 at episode 2 or 3. It just had not met my expectations.

I know this post is old but you really should finish it. And it has charm.

I was more looking forward to gita's GBF to be animeted. Hope Cygame will make it one day. (Not the existing male one.)

I don't know if it's considered underrated but I never see anyone talking about it so I think it might be considered underrated. It's rated #36 on mal but still never see anyone talking about it at all.

The anime I speak of is Mushishi

I kinda agree with you, Also Natsume Yuuchinjou.

I might like it only if it was not under "Shingeki no Bahamut" title and not called season 2.

With my age, I have some formed tastes which do not allow switches of the main characters under the same title. The thing here is about expectations.

Have you watched Utawarerumono? So-called "Season 2" was just like different anime with different characters and this is not what everyone expected. As a result, ratings are so bad while anime has pretty ok quality with 25eps. In comparison, season 1 considered as a great thing by many, and it really is.
