Sony Vegas or After Effects?

PR + AE all the way! AVS Video Editor for quick snips but never tried Vegas before...

I preffer Sony vegas, it is way easier and also you have way more options

I think it's hard to compare Sony Vegas and After Effects, as AE is not really a video editing software. So I would rather compare Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere.

I never worked with Sony Vegas before but I can tell you:
Premiere sucks at the moment. I mean, I love it. It looks great, it has great effects, easy to use. But since 2018 it crashes and crashes and is buggy, it's terrible! And even though Premiere is supposed to make backups of your project as soon as it crashes, it never helped me before. Sometimes I had to restart with a blank project.

I feel like you cant really compare the two. After Effects does...effects, like really good ones that arent just for simple videos. Theyre rlly different level type stuff

I would recommend Sony Vegas for Video-editing.
AE is rather for FX

Pretty significant difference there. After Effects is mostly used for special FX etc. While Sony Vegas is mostly for basic video editing. A better comparison would be: Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere

Definitely after effects. Sony Vegas are for lighter work that doesn't require some heavy editing

I have only worked with After Effects. But after being a bit in the industry I believe AE is considered the best if you use AP.
