How do people find these altcoins?

Get into the crypto scene and figure out which projects are up and coming. Hit up servers on discord, irc and riot/matrix and ask people.
As has been said before it's tough to find an undervalued coin but I imagine they are out there.
There aren't a lot of new coins that us POW as far as I know.
