How do people find these altcoins?

I want to mine some alternative coins, that can potencionally go up. People on ytb are recommending many of them. I always wondered how they find those. Is there like some big database when you can find them or something? I know that there is whattomine website but that all.

Also interesting to note that around 80% of ICOs last years turned to be in fact scams. They are getting more and more professional in their way of doing it, I myself had quite a few surprise in project I really thought to be legit. Be sure to check what highly reputable member of the crypto community think about a project, and make sure to have multiple public statements from known contributors before losing time and/or money !

Join a good discord group, The one I'm on has a trial membership and then you have to pay after. It is very worth the money. A lot of different type of investors and people with different specialties. Also start following the top 20 on Twitter, go to Coingecko.com and research the ones that have been up recently and try to figure out why. A good site for news is CCN.com.
