A resounding yes here. I'm not sure if people who think they'd get bored think the world/universe just isn't that interesting or have limited imaginations, but I'm pretty sure I could keep myself entertained for a good 10k years at least, and I'd hope that mankind had advanced enough (with my help and guidance) to make the place much more interesting. I'm not much interested in people in general, so once i'd grieved for my current family and friends, I'd probably keep to either fellow immortals if there are any, have passing acquaintances, and being a geneticist, I'd probably try cloning myself at least once. I notice you've pointed out that it would be difficult to survive till 1000, but the sheer fact you are age locked makes it a lot more likely to live a couple hundred at least, by which point technology and medical science will have advanced to extend that and make it easier to survive. Yeah, immortality would be pretty sweet, I'd get so much science done.
