Systematically it absolutely still exists and part of the problem is that its not being recognized. Why do you think there's more crime in communities that are primarily black? Because there's a lack of funding and opportunities. Why? Look at the history of laws enacted to disenfranchise and prevent upward mobility of black people. There have been no real strides to bring funding into these areas for education, homelessness, or job opportunities, but rather bias training of the police force which has been ineffective. This is just one example of systemic racism, which is still incredibly prevalent. Just because socially it's not acceptable or PC to outwardly discriminate against others doesn't mean we've done the work to dismantle the systems of oppression this country was founded on
