is the grind worth it?

Depends on whether you like the game or not. I personally love the exploration and kinda want to get abyss 12 w/ 12 stars so grinding is worth it for me, but if you don't like the game as it is now and are only grinding because of routine or expecting new end game content, I'd recommend you to stop.
