Barber/3 = 40 KG

Archer + Barber = 50 KG
So 50 - Barber = 10 KG
Archer = 10 KG

Pekka = 1000 KG because Pekka - 10 KG = 990 KG

Barber = 40 KG
Archer = 10 KG
Pekka = 1000 KG

1000 + 40 + 10 = 1050 KG

See? You are subtracting 10 kg from pekka. But for others you included archer.
Its pekka - archer.

The answer is 1050 I asked my math professor about it.

This is correct,

Why would even someone think Pekka = 990.

While it says Pekka - Archer = 990 KG xD

And the Archer was 10 KG.

Yea extactly pekka - archer. Its not 1000 - 10. Its Pekka - Archer.

I would like to explain you all with an example.
Say 3 barbarians are standing on a big weighing machine.
Now because they are just character they all can be same weight.
So its 120 kg. Now 1 barbarian and 1 archer is standing on it. It is 50 kg.
Now if pekka is standing alone you cannot remove archer from the machine can you?
You need archer with him there to be subtracted. So now archer and pekka are standing.
Archer needs to pee so she goes to wc. Pekka is left all alone and his weight is shown on the machine.
Pekka is very heavy. It shows 990 kg. Pekka is depressed.
