If you ask me, you can't experience non existence. It's like going to sleep and never waking up right? Some people think death will be like being locked in a dark room for ever and ever. But, in reality, if you just thin about how you were born - waking up from never going to sleep... You didn't experience non existence then did you?

With that said, obviously he shouldn't kill himself as all these problems are very temporary and it will only be a matter of time until they are resolved and he can have a good life Just look to the future as your motivation man.
