How did you guys get into enjoying Manga

i am a huge anime fan and sadly some of the animes don'tget second seasons.

i have tried and tried to get into manga but the lack of colour really affects my immersion....did anyone else experience this at the beginning and eventually started to appreciate manga or did they enjoy it right from the get-go.
