Notepad++ is bestin windows , I like it as you can have multiple open tabs which are preserved over reboots without the need to saving the file.

VI or TEX on UNIX , VIM or LeafPad on Linux .are my first choice ..

VI or TEX on UNIX , VIM or LeafPad on Linux .are my first choice .. However a feature like Notepad ++ would be so nice in Linux systems .
