In a perfect world I'd be running a Linux based OS but my mortal ties to games that don't have a Linux port are forcing me to continue to run Windows 10 which is arguably one of the worst iterations of Windows created. Even after having put HOURS into disabling some of the "features" Windows 10 offers it still is able to surprise me by doing some completely shady action by default. It's like the devs never even tested it for more than a few days at a time before deciding to ship it.

If your OS makes daily usage more of a chore by design you don't deserve to work on or have any part in contributing to OS development.

All I can say about that is MSMG Toolkit.
It modifies the contents of the ESD/WIM files of the Windows installer images and you can remove some contents from them pretty easily.

There are some downsides to removing some features (since you wind up with an unstable OS after doing so) and you have to avoid updating entirely since updates can potentially reinstall or add new programs you might not like from Microsoft.

Also the moment we port DirectX and .NET Framework over to UNIX systems is the moment Microsoft goes off their rockers with legal threats. Also let's not forget about the games that are strictly Windows 10 only.
So far the only game that I know is Windows 10 only is State of Decay 2 and the repetition in that game bores me to no end.
