It's not. It's just hard to get up from where I am sitting some times as well, but when I am standing up straight and walking around its perfectly fine

For short term pain relief over counter pain relief, icing it and perhaps a compression wrap like body builders use. I used to have to wrap my knees just to get through a night at work.
