Short answer, no it isn't more important to do work you love. That's a privilege people with lots of money get to have because they can wait out till they actually start getting income from their dream job.03-04-2021, 10:03 AMccc10001 Wrote: My father always thought the work I did was pointless
He thought engineering work was more important to the country and society
But isn't it more important to do the work you love?
It's more important that you find a stable job that will guarantee you income, and then you can think about pursuing passions that you like. Because how can you even live if your passion is causing you to fail. Other people are going to depend on you, and you are going to depend on you.
So imo it would be better to do the crap you don't like now, and have all the time/money to pursue things you like in the future. There's no point on gambling on jobs that may or may not pay you. It's better to be on the safe side and have a good financial safety net. Because honestly interest change, and committing to something will just work better out in the long run.
