Negative, cards obtained with this method can only be used on Amazon.COM

Purchasing Amazon Dealer entitles you to receive free updates over time as long as it will be for sale and working. I don't see a date anytime soon for this method to stop being used so you can purchase it with confidence about it being long-lasting.

Cards obtained with this method should be redeemed within a week since you get them. In any case, using these cards won't put your amazon account at risk.
