Hi everyone, I was wondering what the communities stance on 3D printing is? Are you interested in it, or do you print yourself? If so what kind of printer do you use? What materials do you use? What sort of things do you like to print?

I personally print.

I use an extremely modded Ender 3 V2 that I spent a grand total of around $1400 on doing things like greatly increasing build volume to 400mm in all directions, converting to direct drive extrusion, converting to linear rails on every axis, I completely replaced the main board with an SKR E3 Turbo, added auto bed leveling with a BLTouch, replaced the original display with a touchscreen, added a raspberry pi4b for automated prints, added a camera for print monitoring and time lapse recording, replaced the bed heater with a much larger more efficient one, replaced the stock extruder with a Bondtech BMG, replaced the hot end with a E3D V6, replaced the ptfe tube with a capricorn tube, and added a smart filament sensor that detects runout, clogs, and breaks.

I print with everything from PLA, PETG, PC, ABS, and TPU.

I create a lot of my own models and print a wide variety of models, the main thing I print though is my custom made rolling trays.

I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else thinks and has to say Smile

I use a cr10s pro v2 that i got for like $280. Personally seeing that you spent around $1400 for a heavily modded ender 3 v2, I would personally just go with a mk3s, but thats just my opinion. I am sure you got value from that $1400 especially since some people enjoy modding stuff which im guessing you do Smile

I don't really print much with my printer, i just print whenever I see something I like, or need something and check thingiverse for something that fits my needs

I personally love 3D printing and creating awesome shapes out of plastic. It's a great experience.

Unshelve it, once you figure it out you open the door to so many possibilities and you can print a lot of mods to make it even better. You can even make money with your printer if you put in the effort. GLHF

I'm not very old but in tech ed for 7th grade we have to make 3d models and so far. i've made some really cool things. i've made a "puzzle cube" like those cubes that ome in multiple peices and you have to put together. And i've made multiple different style of houses. its realy cool the things you can do with tinker cad xd. my brother lets me 3d print some of the things i make and tbh they're really cool to hold after i spent a day making them on a crappy chromebook.

I remember the first thing I printed I was about your age and we did puzzle cubes it was a good introduction but there's definitely a lot cooler stuff. It's cool your brother let's you print stuff when you want to, I recommend using fusion360 for modeling.

It kinda freeks me out - get the sense that people can create things they shouldn't be able to, like guns
