Which one would be the best one for gaming i5-8600k or i7-8700k? I think 12 cores are waay too much and it would be overpay for the performance gain.

I7

But if you play csgo intel core i5 or i7 gen6 is the best way to go Wink

Personally, I use an i7-6700k but my dad uses an i7-6800k but that's because he uses it for computer generations and graphical stuff (with a gtx 1080) and that means he doesn't get bottlenecked. Since 1080 is still overkill for gaming I'd go i5 if you are just gaming. It really is situational.
Hmmmm... Monke.

I7 is a dream for rendering and 3d design and editing and all that jazz
I'd still go with an i5 if you really just wanna game. I'm using an i5 7600 and it works just fine for gaming (at least 60fps)

The i5 is enough if you are just going to use it to play videogames and these things.

Personally prefer the i7, haven't used the other one before.
