As both dota 1,2 and lol player i would say it's what you are used to watch. If you forget about lol and start playing dota you will see that it's not that bad.

Dota is way more strategic that league of legends .
Dota is wayyyyyyyyyy harder than league of legends and i am saying that from experience. Went 30 lvl joined rank and in 5 days i was gold v , my friends were trying to get there for months.

Also the biggest reason should be what else , money

LoL players earn more from salary, though. The pay for top teams is about equal atm.

But there's a medium (top 500 players etc.) scene as well which LoL doesn't have. Which is a good place to jump to the top 100 bracket.
