Looking for something to make some free cryptocurency (NO MINNING) . I have never dealt with it and would like to see how it works without investing.

You can't make free cryptocurrency in this way without doing any thing... you can use freebitco.io if you want to make some with playing but it waste of time.

The only way to achieve this is through "faucets" it's slow going, but the best one (by far) is:

"Free bitcoin", before I even finish reading the title I have a feeling of what you are about to say and the answer is a firm NO. Mining phase is over, the only way to get bitcoin sufficiently is by sourcing it from a 3rd party, ex) coinbase, BTC machines, etc.

If you already have some, you can always try some gambling games, but I wouldn't really recommend that
