I've learned very quickly, if a company isn't selling you a product, then you're the product being sold. Google is an absolute juggernaut in the realm of user data, up there with facebook, just without the scandals. There's evidence out there that google home devices collect data from your conversations, and there's absolutely no doubt that they're doing the same for documents and emails. Apple on the other hand, is starting to lose influence if memory serves. People aren't as swayed by the thousand dollar iphone 37 as they were when apple was one of the prime innovators in the smartphone industry. Of course, I suppose there is the balance between Macs and Windows PCs, but Apple still seems to be the underdog in htat industry.Exploiting the information users regularly put into google yields far more long term benefits for them than apple can muster with their devices.

They have a lot of our private data, so basically they can control us, i guess ..
