I have a question for you guys, in your opinion how much RAM do I need to run Adobe Photoshop optimally, and also does Photoshop require a high end VGA?

Thankyou

32GB of ram is the best to go. If you want it to run smoothly, get 32GB. If you want to display really good colors, yes, get a high end VGA. Get the best to run the best.

I've a related question if you don't mind, my specs are ryzen 5 1600af, ram 24g (16+8 sticks), vga rx570 4g, MB b450 tomahawk max.
sometimes when I'm working on big files on PS or even illustrator it lags and takes time to process, so I'm wondering which should be my nextupgrade (the essential part to upgrade)cause unfortunately, I'm on a tight budget and parts really expensive here.

Thanks in advance

yea agreed, get 32 gb If you want it to run smoothly. ive never experienced photoshop not lagging SOMTIMES tho

if its so you can draw smoother, also consider ipad + procreate

also an old macbook, as old as like 2010, can run PS quite decently, especially if you upgrade it. and old apple stuff can be pretty cheap somtimes

from my own experience 32gb are the best for Photoshop, as for vga a medium-high range wouldn't give you any problems (it clearly influences what you do)

i have 8gb ram ryzen 5 1600
and low profile vga 750 2gb
the photoshop.exe process uses approx 5gb of ram and 30% of cpu
In my personal experience the program never crashed or closed unexpectedly, I hope it will help you

Yeah, I agree with everyone else. 32 GB of ram is perfect for running photoshop smoothly.

i was defintely gonna say 16gb RAM would be good since i'm running 8 with little lag at the moment, but 32 definitely would be the best lol. i guess it also depends on the depth and how massive your projects normally are
