i personally use AdBlock (the og) but tbh, all the important websites detect it and makes you deactivate it. so sometimes i end up disabling it

Before I'd go with uMatrix, but that got discontinued, so uBlock Origin is what's left.
Support open-source software!

Reasons to use linux and how to get started

i use arch btw

Hi guys. With Firefox, uMatrix still works great, and it works well with uBlock. uMatrix stopping power is superior to uBlock.
Combine them both with Acrylic DNS if you are on windows to manage your hosts file. Acrylic allows you to use regex with your hosts file, and supports multiple dns servers.

On linux you can stiill edit the hosts file by yourself. There are many well maintained hosts files on github for blocking lots of junk.
MX linux also offers a nice little hosts fille manager / ad blocker.

I have a Pi-Hole for all my ad-block needs makes life so much easier and cuts out the "stop using ad-block" issues

I agree: The best Ad Blocker you can get is AdBlock Plus, It's free and easy to setup.

I love uBlock Origin, it blocks spotify adds too. Is really good in performance, the best extension for me

Lot of good suggestion here. Will try one by one. Getting annoyed with the ads
