I want to make an app version of a website but it's not that I can't do it, it's more of a "I'm too lazy to even interact with anything" type of situation. And the fact that there's a pandemic going on doesn't help, the things I would usually resort to are no longer, I am now just a bag of useless crap doing nothing but watching youtube or playing pokemon. If anyone has a way of kicking themselves into high gear could you please share it.

Hey mate,
2 possible approached I can think of
I use this one mostly:Just do the got damn start. It's basically the same behaviour as when you go hit on someone.Go in there,no questions asked,no backsies, don't think why and do it swiftly. You will get absorbed at such an extend, that time will fly.(Usually,a deadline helps me go into high-gear.Such projects have no clear and pressing deadline. So try to think some way to punish/reward yourself for failing/meeting a self-made deadline)
Have someone push it to you,go do it as soon as you read this post etc.The point is you need to sit in that chair and work for even 1 minute. Then the magic will take place and you will try to solve the problems that arise with your app.

2nd approach:Fake it till you make it.

You either want to do it or don't if you really want to complete this project the only thing stopping you from doing so is yourself.
All my motivation comes from success however i have hit those moments where i lack motivation is which i just grind through it
like its a job. Then when its finished i usually garner motivation from my success and move on to the next thing i need to do.
Break the project into parts when you get sick of one part move on to another also take some small breaks in between big projects.

Figure out the first thing you need to do, then break that down into the smallest division of tasks possible. Then physically write that down into a list and plan to cross off at least one or two items a day. Put your phone on silent while you do this. It's easy to procrastinate because you don't know where to start. Understand procrastination doesn't come from laziness but from some form of anxiety.

What a pro would do is chug g-fuel, put on some hardcore screamo music and power through it even if it makes you sweat and tear up a little bit. Works for me.. Just make sure your sanity doesn't get to low otherwise you will start to see things.
