Angelic's Full Site Feedback

Welp, I will try to make this a feedback thread full of the highlights of this forum and some of the things I feel that I personally want to point out, of course it will ALL be constructive criticism. In no way am I trying to be negative or putting down anything with the points I will make out throughout this feedback thread and I hope you can either learn from what I say and actually think about it and take the compliments I give in good light since I am not going to just say "HEY GREAT SITE YOU HAVE HERE." I am mainly doing a feedback thread because I do like to do them for sites I am actually active on and want to see grow and strive for more.
I'll basically go through a few things that you will see in my table contents, below. So without further ado here we go. *Says in Mario voice*
Table of contents:
Community:
So the community, that is active is a mixture between another forum that a lot of users came from and people that come from those pay to post sites to gain activity. It's not an awful combo, of course. The threads are usually new and fresh for the most part and there is usually something to post about which is a huge deal for forums, in general. I personally would like to see advertising elsewhere for obvious reasons since I see the same type of people join, post a bit and then go away. Would most likely benefit this forum if you got advertisement on other big boards that allow it and have a steady, active userbase that are full of users that want to be apart of a community, rather than post a bit then leave.
That being said, I have no idea where you are doing your advertising as you are a pretty old forum compared to most newer ones that are trying these days, you created something when general forums weren't as saturated as they are now so that gives you an edge.. or did I guess? I will assume things have went dorment through the years as the activity didn't pick up since another forum closed down and you got handed a nice chunk of active users.
Overall the community is friendly and has a nice group of users that are more than the "no profiles" (people who don't edit their avatar and signature, etc.) Hopefully you advertise in more places, maybe make contests to draw in users to do more to help you with that or something in the same nature as that.
Design and Layout:
So at first the site is pretty simple to look at, and dark. Which is a bonus to me, personally. I actually like the simplistic nature of the theme and the features you have within it. You can do a lot with it, from the custom CSS to the more simple way of just changing the color of it. The logo is fitting to the name and it is pretty user friendly, it highlights the key points of what people kind of need to see. There isn't many bugs if at all that I have found, except for that userbar hue issue but it isn't that big of a deal and I do hope to see it fixed in the next update on the theme.
The emojis.. oh god.. I really do you get some new ones, I have yet to see many people use these phone app like things. They are rather boring and don't fit the forum at all in my opinion or the group that uses it. I'm sure you can figure out a few different styles and genre of emojis to get if you look at what kind of community you have around you. (Gamers and weebs *hint hint*) But kudos on a nice looking theme that isn't hard on the eyes and makes my head hurt.
Staff:
Okay, so I'll just go through the staff team and give a little bit of feedback on each one. I won't be doing section mods since I'm more focused on people that have a little more presence on a smaller community geared forum as this one is.

Staff:
Okay, so I'll just go through the staff team and give a little bit of feedback on each one. I won't be doing section mods since I'm more focused on people that have a little more presence on a smaller community geared forum as this one is.
Administrators
Aoki - You're a pretty quiet dude, you talk when needed and don't often take shit off of anyone, which is a good trait to have as someone who owns and runs a forum, even for a small one. I don't really see you posting a lot with your community which I have always though poorly of because it boosts activity more if staff, especially the owner (or one of the co owners.. whatever) gets into the loop. People just like that shit I suppose. I'm speaking from experience of course, not just saying it for the hell of it. Can't really say much more about you as I only know very little from what you say in the discord and in the forum.
Aisaka - Who are you? Just kidding, you cute little weeb. You are in my eyes, the backbone of this forum or at the very least a very important part of the puzzle. I kind of think of you like Cake was to Alex and Franny. Not saying that Aoki doesn't do anything behind the scenes. You do good work though and what you do for this forum is important, you're making sure things get fixed, for the most part. Little bugs here and there get fixed with time and the major things I assume get fixed right away, proitized and worked on in a timely matter. You reply to messages with kindness behind your messages and just an overall great person to deal with.
Faded - Oh Zero, sweet little zero. I have nothing against you, you are active and a cool dude most of the time. You do act a little like cake though, especially in the discord/suggestions. It's kind of offputting. As an administrator, I guess you should maybe be a little more professional (not in the discord, who cares about that) but in like the suggestions.. maybe say why it's being denied or if it is already denied.. post a link to where it was with a reply on why it was. Just something, I personally like to see. Though by no means I'm telling you how to do your job, just feedback. The rest of what you do is awesome!
Staff
fdigl - Your profile is cute. Okay so, um I don't actually know a lot about you. However that being said, your activity is on point and you are rather kind in your replies and can joke around with it seems. You're a great staff member from what I've seen. I wish I could say more about you, other than that little bit but just keep up the good work, you are a user new users can look up to.
Blaze - I'll be honest, I haven't seen you around much. Probably different timezones or something. Though I decided to take a little peak into your profile and your old posts. You are very helpful as I can see. You reply to threads (leaks) that have been reported and deal with them, very refreshing to see a staff member that is doing their job, with consistency. Great staff member, thank you for your work.
Pulseeey - You're a bully! Though even that being said, you are a knowledgable staff member that can troll and have a good time. You aren't very serious in the discord chat which is nice since that should be a place where users can interact with people from the staff team and not feel intimidated. You're pretty damn active and post all around the forum.
Groups:
Groups on here are about the same as every other forum out there. An easy way to make money off users for a shiny userbar and a little sub forum. I do however like that the groups need to have a purpose now and not just be that, a lounge group that has no meaning. Having a direct niche gives groups a little more interaction within it's members. You can actually join the group looking for what the group says it does. I hope t see a change in some groups due to this, though most groups do have a specific niche that will make this be easier to transiton into.
Conclusion:
So, that about wraps it up. I basically really focused on the staff and hit little points on other things that I wanted to give some feedback to. Thank you for reading and a big thanks to the staff team for having such a forum open for us to all enjoy!
RE: Angelic's Full Site Feedback
Nice feedback thread Angelic, I think some of theses points where spot on. I pretty much agree with the whole of it. The theme is my only problem but that can be easily changed to fit personal ascetics in the CSS and with the huge wall of text now having a spoiler button it has really cleaned up. Emojis perhaps are due a change but there simple and fit. But nice thread Angelic!
Pm me if you need some help.

A very good read! I love the professional approach you took with the whole table of contents and all!
I do agree that the mobile design is kinda iffy, especially when you make the browser thinner and the whole theme basically breaks instead of switching to a mobile friendly deisgn (yeah, thanks, viewport templates). And I think that aiko already confirmed that discord emojis are on their way soon.
The staff points I don't really think that aiko needs to post all that much, he's the owner, but the rest of the staff is also a thing and they're basically here to take a part of his burden. The team is the staff as a whole, not just him. It is very nice to see staff being able to take a joke and treat users fairly and not like they have some superiority complex. Friandly staff is always the core of a welcoming community!
Overall a realistic and fair review with valid feedback in both pointing out the site's strengths as well as some of its flaws. Good constructive criticism!

#4 Interesting feedback Chris, especially the part about comparing Aoki to Cake, quite an insult don't you think?

Depends how you look at it, though I wasn't really trying to compare him to Cake. Cake is his own type of fucked up.
