My 5 year old has a rented server that his mom set up. It's got a good 10-20 people on it pretty consistently. I don't know that much about it, but they were paying for a server and the server is crap.. so I'm putting the game on my server (I'm a web developer and have a cloud server). I already have the server and everything running (also have a teamspeak server running)

The server is linux based, right now I'm managing everything through ssh and using a screen for minecraft and server..

I was going to create a simple web based admin panel so the game admins can manage it. I've seen a few other options for managing minecraft but it looked like they were all paid.

Does anyone have any scripts to help admin the server, or a nulled server admin, or suggestions on setting up an admin page to manage it? I'm more of a web developer and not sysadmin, is running it through screen the best way to do it?

Thanks!

Screen is a good way to contain the process.

Honestly, I see no need for a control panel at all unless you intend on having multiple servers and want a good way to manage them. I wouldn't know what to suggest for a single server, as I personally wouldn't bother with a control panel.

It would mainly be because the main admins of the server, are not comfortable or knowledgeable enough in linux to do anything.

If your just running 1 server there isn't really a need for a CP, but if you do want one I suggest Multicraft.

All you should do in the SSH terminal would be power controls for the server (power off, restart, boot. etc).

Server administrators should be able to use the in-game commands to do most of their work. I see no reason why they should be elsewhere. Majority of thefree control panels out there are buggy, and the paid onesdo have great features but they aren't designed for single server use.

You could make your own however as far as I know, you need experience in more than just PHP.

Don't you need to be in the terminal for things like op commands?

It depends on your server setup, you could just OP (/op username)your server administrators or use a permissions system and give them the permissions they need.

SpaceBukkit would be nice, if the download links be available. I have self-hosted a Bungee-Cord Server Network, which i administrate since a few weeks over ssh. I hope i find a nicely admin Panel.
