Crypto is pretty volatile so choosing a coin to stick with is always a gamble. I still like coins like Ethereum personally.
Would recommend checking out coinmarketcap to get a good idea of the value and market cap sizes of the coins that are currently being traded. You may be able to find something that is still relatively new and has lots of room for growth.
I think you should invest by holding coins that have potential and have a good development team. For those with no knowledge or little, it can be difficult to trade profitably. What you should do is research and learn before buying or selling something
