Im an Ableton Live user, and recently Im loving the V11 update and the new Max for Live devices.

Hahaha I know exactly what you mean Sweat

I make a mix of stuff, mostly experimental melodic stuff. Recently I'm trying to get more into makingbass music though. The sound design is very challenging but very rewarding

I've been very into Ivy Lab lately. And a bunch of underground bass music from Soundcloud likeVide, yojas, and spicy bois. What about yourself?

I record/edit through Reaper 6 DAW for a few time, especially to record my projects (f*ck CoViD, unable to rehearse with the band, nor recording). I tried Cubase, Pro Tools, but the prices are really crippling as I don't make money with my productions. (Reaper 6 is around 50 for a lifetime subscription).

* I usually play metal (death, thrash, hardcore, stoner, rapcore, and black), stoner rock, old Seattle grunge... But I also do some old school rap and trap. *

As VST/VSTi and hardware I use :

- EZ Drummer for the drum (controlled by my Alesis Nitro Mesh drum kit, and usually the extension "drumkit from hell")
- Edirol HQ Orchestral for all the traditional instruments (violin, cello, etc.), controlled by a M-Audio Oxygen 49 Mk4 keyboard.
- Guitar Rig 6 for guitar and bass (I got toooo much guitars, but my mains are BC Rich ProX2 tuned in B or C standard, Epiphone Goth G400 tuned in D or drop D , and an old Strat tuned in E standard. I use a cheap bass, a Dean Metalman Z, under 200). I cannot record my guitar with my amp, as my Randall GR100 100W is, well, too loud to play at home.
- JCM800 Preamp and Hot Preamp for the voices, the input is made with a condensator microphone (Tonor TC 20)

Guitars, bass and microphone are plugged via a M-Audio M-Track Duo external sound card, the drum and the keyboard are in USB.

Ever since the update i've been using Ableton 11 and I understand everyone has their own tastes when it comes to a DAW but over the years it has done me well and I can pinpoint each tool I need (for the most part), and the interface is smooth and simple yet not as simplified as something like garageband.

I compose musical pieces but not professionally. Just for my Music Theory classes in college.
