I'm currently a couple months into a repair shop and helpdesk position, with training to become anon-site equipment installer. It's a family owned MSP, so everyone gets a pretty rounded skill-set.
Anyone else in the industry care to share their story?
Well, when I started the IT, my first workplace PC was a 286 XT or similar :) I remember when it was replaced with a 386, later 486. Oh man, those times :D I was working with simple data, entering invoices to a PC database for an accountant. Later I became an all round guy, made DTP works, sysadmin tasks, and became a sysadmin two companies later. Six years later a sudden turn: a friend asked me if I want to work in the videogame industry, as a designer (I was a decent storyteller in paper and pen rpg-s), yes ofc :) I was lead designer, sometimes project manager, and studio owner, but got enough, so changed to a navigation company 6 yrs ago, still here.
