Are video games a waste of time?

nope, they help to relax and distracting from the real problems and difficultes

You have to be able to pull something usefull for them, otherwise YES they are waste of time. If you spend a LOT of time playing without making any money from it, then it consume your time.

Gaming is considered having fun.. if it's waste of time then everything you do for fun is waste of times too

I actually sold my PS4 because I was spending too much time playing video games. I rather use that time making money. Instead of wasting money on games that get old after a month.

I have the same "problem" as you. If I start playing something I enjoy, I won't stop after half an hour, or if I start watching an anime or something. I'm literally incapable to stop, especially if I've got homework. I didn't lost touch with friends though, because we go to a cafe every 2 days. Hope you will get "back in shape" because I know how it feels, I know your struggles and so on.

It's just a passion and could be addictive like every other interesting activity.

I wouldn't really say that, as it is really just another form of entertainment at the end of the day. As long as you do it in moderation and don't let it take over your life it should be fine, just like any other hobby.

Video games are currently more streamed than netlix, hulu, and live tv combined... If you have a passion to make it a career, its very possbile..
If you have a passion for it and just love to play, never stop doing what you like.

Video games are like any hobby, not a waste of time to those who enjoy them. However if they start affecting your real life, then you might have problems.
