I've always enjoyed editing as a hobby, and I am looking for was to monetize my passion. What are some tips you'd give to an aspiring editor whose skills lay in motion graphics and general video editing?

Are you asking for tips on getting hired? The big #1 is dont make a Fiverr etc etc, those markets are incredibly saturated and wont get you anywhere. Spend that time doing personal projects and building a good portfolio. Now this goes for the video editing industry in general, but youll only ever get jobs if people like you so network network network!!!! Check out editing Discords and get a Twitter account because most content creators will post job listings on there.

Just like any other freelancer start doing work for relatively cheap and as you build out your portfolio on social media platforms like Instagram, you can begin to increase your prices. Just gotta have the patience and perserverance! Smile

I used the Aspiring Video Editor while I was just starting my freelancer career at Upwork. It is a good problem with an easy-to-understand interface, and if you are thinking about buying this app, i suggest you do so. I really enjoyed this application, and it's the best application for beginners, in my opinion. Thanks to this article https://www.playlouder.com/how-to-incorporate-yourself/ helped me a lot with suggesting the right way to go in the freelance market. Have a good day, gents!

My best advice would be to offer to edit some videos for free, do fire work, and use it to keep getting hired! Don't be scared to reach out to people you look up to!
