Award for Top Poster Pros&cons

I personally think this would be a good idea, Example: Top poster for the week [10times] you get an award or top poster for the day [15times], with screenshots with the date you have been top poster. But obviously you can do this various ways.

Pros-Motivation
-More active on forums
-A goal to reach
-Friendly competition

No.
This promotes award-whoring and LQ posting.
It wouldn't be friendly competition, it'd be posting for post count, not to add to a discussion, discussion being the only reason to actually open a forum.
I do not agree with this idea.

No due to the amount of spam that would appear on the forums. That's like saying because I made a 1,000 posts in one month I deserve an award.
There should be no award based on post count unless it was something like "Achieve 15,000 forum posts total."

Meh, I'm sure everyone would just post random stuff just to get the award. I think the quality posts will decrease whilst the LQ posts will increase, which is a bad progress.

Yea unfortunately, Would also be way more post then threads.
