I don't know of any software, but I do know what can work: Don't make yourself a target, don't make someone want to overload you with random bytes. If you become a business, make good decisions so that people don't DDOS you out of hate, although that won't stop some people. They'll do it just to make a name for themselves.

It is good to see that there are legitimate strategies in place for organisations in dealing with DDOS attacks these days, but I feel like a lot more needs to be done. It's still far too common to try and use monstrous sites and services and to find them unusable because of a dedicated attack.

I think that cloudflare is pretty reliable.

Buy a VPN. Protect your shit.

Do you for personal use? Or for your website/server?

I would suggest Cloudflare for the latter, and a VPN for personal use. They cant ddos you if they cant find your IP :D

If it's for personal use then use a VPN/Phone connection.

If it's a web server, there is many "Protection" third party services out there. I've always used sucuri, It's $20/mo but it's really good worth the $20/mo imo you could always use free ones such as CF.
