Best Elevator?

I need to find the fastest way to travel up and down in minecraft.
Anyone know the best way to do this?
I want it to look good as well.

You can make cake ladder things that are extremely fast and super thin. Hardest part is making a bunch of cakes

I would say you should watch a youtube videos for fastest piston elevator, it is very expansive but should be one of the fastest ways to travel upwards and falling is the fastest way down... I like Magma Block and Soul Sand elevators, they are incredibly cheap and easy to get and are really fast.

I prefer just some old good signs and water source up the way.
