Best bang-for-buck VR headset?

I was thinking about buying some VR shit, mainly for gaming and game development since I can just buy some shitty Google Cardboard knockoff for movies and porn. I know that most people that don't need to worry about budget go for the Vive, but I also need to upgrade some shit in my computer so I was wondering if cheaper alternatives such as the Oculus Rift are as good as the Viveor if I should just save up and upgrade my computer first, then save up for the Viveor whatever the gold standard is at the time of purchase.

Spend the time waiting for the vive its worth it my friend just got one and its amazing to say the least so realistic and runs perfectly easy to use and setup really just save for it, will be worth the wait
