I need some Minecraft plugins for my server. Name the plugins please. Thanks.

Use Essentials. That plugin is really needed by most servers.

It depends on what you want your server to be? There are plenty of great addons for minecraft. Things like WorldEdit and WorldGuard for map editing and protection.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, Essentials, WorldEdit, and WorldGuard are all incredibly useful. I would also recommend some sort of permissions plugin like PermissionsEx (if that's still around).

Another recommendation I would give is CoreProtect. It's a blocklogging plugin that allows you to track and rollback griefing, etc. Incredibly useful.

Yes, there is, but you need to look at official sources, do not look at fake sites, so you can lose the server

Essentials and MCMMO are my go-to for servers. essentials gives a ton of basic commands while MCMMO gives players levels for doing certain things, and eventually gives them rewards once they're a high enough level

WorldGuard, Essentials, WorldEdit are the best. Strongly recommend!

ok so I'll start with basic plugins needed for any server:

Worldguard
Worldedit
Essentials/EssentialsX (either is fine)
Coreprotect
Vault
PlaceholderAPI
TAB
Skript
All necessary skript addons which your developers request to be added
shopGUI
GUImanager (i forgot the exact name but it lets you make custom GUIs and its pretty cool)
Specialized crates
nuVotifier
Provotes
Any good anticheat, this completely depends on your minecraft version

NOTE: THIS LIST IS *NOT* PERFECT, please feel free to quote me and suggest to add any plugin, i will reply with yes/no and if no then why it shouldnt be added

and now I state plugins needed game mode wise:

skyblock:

Epic spawners
Fabled skyblock
Stackmob
McMMO
a skyblock server should be preferably 1.12

factions:

Epic spawners
Factions UUID
FAIO UUID (this can be skipped if you want to but its a great help)
Worldborder
A custom cannoning jar (this will replace your original spigot core) (this is needed for optimizations to the mechanics of the game, without this, most cannons wont work)
McMMO
a factions server should preferably be 1.8

Survival:

Slimefun
Physcis2go
Vein miner
Mythic Mobs (with custom bosses)
Advanced achievements
A survival server would prefferably be the latest minecraft version

NOTE: slimefun adds a TON of stuff to the game so you should go through the list and ban any items which may conflict with your server rules

Towny:

Well i dont really know much about towny but i'll give it a try

JobsReborn
A custom leveling system

Creative:

Plotsquared

Prison:

MineResetLite
Prisonranks

These are all i could think of on the go, i am on my phone right now so i apologize if i left out any other crucial plugins
i was gonna use some cool ascii art but that doesnt work on signatures so rip

As some others have mentioned, Essentials (now EssentialsX) is a must-have for all Minecraft servers, no matter what the theme is (aside from pure-vanilla).

But for general gameplay, I like to add features that change game mechanics while still maintaining a vanilla feel. Things like custom enchantments (EnchantmentSolution), MythicMobs (to add a challenge), quests, etc. I also enjoy pre-generating custom structures throughout the world that contain loot. There's a few that do this, but my favorite was MagicLoot (part of SlimeFun). It's finally been updated for 1.15+
