Best screen recording software?

Please tell me the best and free software for recording a screen? Used Aktion! but the trial period came out and now we need new software.

I've always used FRAPS or OBS. If you're looking to stream as well, then use OBS.

OBS is a free software, but FRAPS isn't. If you search hard enough I'm sure you can find a free version of FRAPS online some where, though.

OBS if you are looking forward to record and stream and its free.

ActivePresenter is also a useful program to know. It's good for recording things that Fraps can't, such as the Windows desktop or videos playing in a window.

Last year i used Fraps. But i switched to OBS. Its much better with different Scenes and inputs

I use a cracked version of Icecream Screen Recorder which has come to very good use.

Going to have to agree with most of the people here, I find that OBS has the most functionality when it comes to free screen recording software.
If you're playing games they might be slowed by a decent amount when recording.

Im pretty sure most streamers use OBS i could be wrong tho. I do remember when you make a twitch account they reccomened downloading OBS though

+1 for ActivePresenter, it has a free version but if you need the advance features then just search for a crack.
