I would say my favorite war-time movie was "Generation War". Its a ww2 film that takes place from the germans point of view. A graphic movie that also shows the hardships of 2 brothers forced apart.

A bridge too far was a pretty good movie it's my all time favourite because it happened in the country that i'm from

Dunkirk is pretty sweet - I'd say it was best as a cinema experience though, the rumbling of your seat with bombs added to the overall enjoyment.
