If you really think putting a flag up is idiotic, then you should probably re-read what you just wrote. I'm sure everyone is saying "rip" cause of attention. If you wish someone a happy birthday, you also do it just for the attention right?
It's nice that you're a member of a group that I've never heard of, but slovenia is a little weak country, so you shouldn't have too much expectations.
