Eh, it's hard to say. When it first came out it was worth it, however me myself wouldn't buy it now, competitive is rubbish, and tons of toxic players.
I dont think Overwatch is having its best time now, I got tired of it because of how blizzard handle it, too many changes to perfectly styled heroes just to "refresh" the game. It's still fun u should try it out on free weekends
It does really depend. I stop playing 8months ago cause of the toxic nature the game was starting to develop. Then Bliz started to try pretty hard (at least in my opinion) to push back against it.
I did just recently pick it back up and have not seen he toxicity i use to, but I've not gone into a comp match.
If you enjoy TF2 or Paladins you could easy enjoy Overwatch. As really they are very similar.
